Vasco Cavalheiro (b. 1993, Caldas da Rainha, Portugal) is a multidisciplinary artist working across painting, ceramics and tattooing. Drawing from punk and underground music, outsider art and avant-garde cinema, his work inhabits a world where everyday objects, animals and figures become personal symbols. Balancing humour with unease, his paintings construct dreamlike narratives in which domestic scenes dissolve into surreal compositions, exploring memory, identity and the fragile tension between tenderness and estrangement.
Working intuitively through layered surfaces and colourful compositions, Vasco builds a personal mythology in which bicycles, birds, snakes, tables, windows and anonymous characters become recurring actors in stories that feel both intimate and universal. Across painting, ceramics and drawing, he develops a visual language that is playful but unsettling, inviting viewers into ambiguous worlds where familiarity and mystery coexist.
